TOP CYBER SECURITY GRANTS FOR 2021

  • NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program

You must be a US Citizen, National, or permanent resident alien to apply. This award is only for students pursuing graduate-level research in STEM fields.

  • Cyber Security Public Service Grant

The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia offers a Cyber Security Public Service Grant. It intends to assist recent graduates of Virginia schools who have degrees in cyber safety.


To do so, the Council partners with accepted private and public colleges and businesses. Then provides around $20,000 in combined state and company game gains. Cyber security grants are renewable for up to 3 years.

  • National Defense Science And Engineering Graduate Fellowship

Applicants may be in the past year of undergrad (and accepted to a doctoral program). Or they may be up to two years into grad work.


Participants work on study in a Dept of Defense lab for one summer during the award time frame.

  • National Science Foundation Scholarship for Service (SFS)

Applicants enter through their participating school. Must examine an info assurance field at bachelors -- Ph.D. levels.


The stipend time period requires work at a government agency through cyber security grants for education. Stipends are renewable. Need security clearance for employment/internship. An internship of 10 months is also necessary during the stipend period.

  • Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program

Winners work for 10 weeks in the summer. They work among 36 Department of the Navy Research Labs in technical and engineering roles. Stipend amounts vary based on degree level.

  • Navy Information Assurance Scholarship

Start as a service or civilian member. For undergraduate through doctoral students in information assurance academic disciplines. Separate programs are available for people in the military and civilians in college.


Must complete 1 year of support in the civil or military division for every year of the scholarship. For support members, no more than 4 years of service in exchange for funding.
