Referral Partners that were chosen to take part in the Basic Program can submit a limited number of referrals at no price. Referrals are contingent on OHAAT's present funding (the more funds we have, the more free beds for kids we give off ) and are approved on a first-come, first-served foundation.
Goods and Services Offered Free Beds for Kids
BEDDING PACKAGE
Every receiver in the Basic Program is guaranteed the following items:
Steel framework with toolless assembly and 1,200 lb. Weight limit
Memory-foam mattress
Sheet set, blanket, and pillow
Several age-appropriate books, stuffed animal, and toothbrush
Educational material about healthy sleep habits and preventing/treating bed bug infestations
Sheet sets, blankets, books, and stuffed animals may be gently-used, but all other items are brand new.
OHAAT does not provide cribs, toddler beds, bunk beds for kids, or larger-size beds for Fundamental Program recipients. Bunk beds may be requested via the Reimbursement Program.
OHAAT volunteers deliver Bedding Packages straight to recipients residing within OHAAT's delivery region. Deliveries are made within 60 days of every petition (the typical wait for Fundamental Program referrals is 13 days). OHAAT volunteers don't build the beds, however, they will put them in whatever room (or rooms) the client specifies.
Bedding Packages must be delivered; OHAAT does not allow pick-ups.
We interview and select referral partners for our Basic Program on a yearly basis like free beds for kids. If your organization meets the below eligibility requirements and you want to be considered for partnership next year, please send a letter of interest via email to our office. Interviews will occur in October and final selection in December. Please bear in mind that associations with an emphasis on house visits and direct housing assistance are preferred.
Referral Partners should be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or government entities;
they need to offer direct services to low-income families residing in Philadelphia, Bucks, or Montgomery County;
and their agents (e.g. social workers, case managers, etc.) must work one-on-one with clients, conducting both interviews and home visits.

they can't have obtained a mattress from OHAAT in the past;
their household income has to be below the Federal Poverty Guideline;
they must now reside in a permanent or long-term home in OHAAT's Delivery Area;
their current residence has to be bedbug-free for at least 3 weeks;
they should have experienced at least one home visit in the previous 3 weeks (performed by a representative in the Referral Partner);
plus they must be sleeping with improper bedding. **

and sleeping on a couch, recliner, or other living room furniture.
We have limited resources and try to serve children who are most in need of https://grantsupporter.com/free-beds-for-kids/, so we cannot replace mattresses unless their structural integrity has been compromised. We won't replace mattresses on the floor, futons in the bedroom, or stained coasters. We will not replace bed bug-infested mattresses. And we are not going to supply a bed frame unless a mattress is needed. Rather, pay them with bed insect-proof encasements. Beds bugs will probably be contained inside the encasements and perish. You can discover encasements at stores that supply bedding, such as Walmart and Target, or even online.
Referring Clients
Authorized representatives from authorized Basic Program partners may refer a client at any time with our online Basic Program Client Referral Form. Referrals are contingent on OHAAT's current financing (the more funding we have, the more beds for kids we give away) and are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
