1. School Violence Prevention Grant Program


The Pupils, Teachers, and Officers Preventing School Violence Act of 2018 (STOP School Violence Act of 2018) gave the COPS Office ability to offer awards directly to States, units of local government, or Indian tribes to improve security at schools and on school grounds in the jurisdiction of the grant through evidence-based school safety programs.


As much as $25 million is available through this year's COPS School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP).


2. COPS Anti-Heroin Task Force Grant Program


The COPS Anti-Heroin Task Force (AHTF) Program is a competitive grant solicitation, available to state law enforcement agencies with multijurisdictional reach and interdisciplinary team (e.g. task force) structures, in states with high per capita rates of primary therapy admissions.


Approximately $32 million in financing is available for FY 2021 AHTF. Each grant is just two years (24 weeks ) in length, and there isn't any local match. Each grant recipient may receive a maximum of $3 million.

To qualify applicants must:


  • Have chief authority over state seizures of heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil, and other opioids

  • have high per capita levels of main treatment admissions for heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil, and other opioids

  • use the funds for investigative purposes to Find or research illicit activities related to the distribution of heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil, or the unlawful supply of prescription opioids


3. COPS Anti-Methamphetamine Grant Program


The COPS Anti-Methamphetamine Program (CAMP) is a competitive grant solicitation, available to state law enforcement agencies with multijurisdictional reach and interdisciplinary team (e.g. task force) structures, in most states with high seizures of precursor substances, finished methamphetamine, labs, and lab dump seizures.


Around $8 million in financing is available for FY 2021 CAMP. Each police vehicle grants is two years (24 weeks ) in length, and there is no local match.


Applicants must ask at least $1 million, and recipients can be given a maximum of $2 million.


To be eligible applicants must:


  • Have primary authority over condition seizures of methamphetamine

  • Consuming high seizures of precursor substances finished methamphetamine, laboratories, and lab dump seizures

  • Use the funds for investigative purposes to track down or investigate illicit activities related to the manufacture and supply of methamphetamine (including precursor diversion, laboratories, or methamphetamine traffickers)

  • Submit a budget request of at least $1 million.


4. Apex Officer Fund


The Apex Officer Fund was established to provide aid for law enforcement agencies and programs, police officers and their families in need of assistance or support, and individuals pursuing a degree in public security and law enforcement. The Apex Officer Fund supports a huge array of strategies to advance police and law enforcement efforts through innovative strategies and technologies.


To qualify applicants must:


  • Full application on Apex Officer's website.

  • Answer and specify: "What does it mean to become an Apex Officer?"

  • Demonstrate financial need and describe the planned use of their funds.

5. Community Policing Development Grant Program


The Fiscal Year 2021 Community Policing Development (CPD) program is an aggressive solicitation, available to all public governmental bureaus, for-profit and nonprofit associations, institutions of higher education, community classes, and faith-based associations.


CPD funds are utilized to develop the ability of law enforcement to implement community policing strategies by giving advice on promising practices through the development and testing of innovative approaches; building knowledge about effective practices and outcomes; and encouraging new, creative methods for preventing crime and promoting safe communities.


The 2021 CPD program will fund projects that develop understanding, enhance awareness of successful community policing plans, increase the skills and skills of law enforcement and community partners, increase the amount of law enforcement agencies and relevant stakeholders employing demonstrated community policing practices, and institutionalize community policing training in routine business.


As much as $6 million is available through this year's program, and all awards are subject to the availability of funds.

  • Law Enforcement Mental Health And Wellness Act Grant Program

The Financial Year 2021 Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act (LEMHWA) application is an aggressive solicitation, available to most public governmental agencies, for-profit and nonprofit associations, institutions of higher education, community classes, and faith-based associations.


LEMHWA funds are utilized to improve the delivery of and access to mental health and wellness services for law enforcement through training and technical assistance, demonstration projects, and implementation of promising practices associated with peer mentoring mental health and wellness programs that are nationwide in scope and responsive to the solicitation topic requirements.


The 2021 LEMHWA application will fund projects that develop knowledge, enhance awareness of successful mental health and health strategies, raise the skills and abilities of law enforcement, and increase the amount of law enforcement agencies and relevant stakeholders using peer training programs.


Up to $2 million can be obtained through this year's program, and all awards are subject to the availability of funds.


The 2021 LEMHWA police vehicle grants program will finance projects associated with the following topic areas:

  • Community Policing Grant Program

CPD funds are used to develop the ability of law enforcement to implement community policing strategies by providing guidance on promising practices throughout the development and testing of advanced approaches; building knowledge about successful practices and results; and encouraging innovative, creative approaches to preventing crime and promoting safe communities.


The 2021 CPD program will fund projects that develop understanding, enhance awareness of successful community policing plans, raise the skills and skills of law enforcement and community partners, increase the number of law enforcement agencies and relevant stakeholders using demonstrated community policing practices, and institutionalize community policing practice in the regular organization.


Up to $6 million can be obtained through this year's program, and all awards are subject to the availability of funds.

  • COPS Hiring Grant Program

The COPS Hiring Program (CHP) Program is a competitive solicitation, open to all state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies with primary law enforcement authority.


Around $400 million in funding is available for FY 2021 CHP. CHP provides funding to employ and re-hire entry-level career law enforcement officers to be able to preserve jobs, boost community policing abilities and support crime prevention efforts.


This program aims to increase the capability of law enforcement agencies to implement community policing strategies that reinforce partnerships for safer communities and improve law enforcement's capability to prevent, solve, and decrease crime through financing for additional officers. The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program (CHP) provides financing for entry-level salary and benefits of newly hired or rehired (because of layoffs) community policing officer positions over three decades.

  • Preparing For Active Shooter Situations Grant Program

Preparing for Active Shooter Situations (PASS) Police vehicle grant funds are used to boost law enforcement and public safety by providing funds for scenario-based training which prepares officers and other first responders to safely and efficiently handle active-shooter and other violent threats. The 2021 PASS program will fund projects that will offer training to satisfy the aim of the 2016 Protecting Our Lives by Initiating COPS Expansion (POLICE) Act in supplying"scenario-based, integrated response courses created to counter busy shooter threats or acts of terrorism against people or centers."


The 2021 PASS application is available to all public political agencies, federally recognized Indian tribes, for-profit (industrial ) associations, nonprofit associations, institutions of higher education, community groups, and faith-based associations.
